The Beach Picture

I changed the beach picture to give it a more rich deep color of an island surrounded by hills or peaks.The skies and the water have a deep blue color and the trees on the peaks next to the beaches are all green.

In the picture before I made all the changes,the leaves of some trees were brown so I changed them to look more green and lively.The snap shots will give a more detailed change made to the picture and the tools used to come to this transformation.

1) original picture which is bright,will brown leaves on trees.  

2) chose the styles tool and layer style.

3) changed the brightness of the picture to make it more darker

The Pool Picture

I removed the pool wall to give the pool more of a long length,i also made the picture darker to make the buildings look new as if they have recently been painted.The stones decorating around the pool and the buildings are attractive and have a natural color.

The snap shots below will show the differences in the two pictures and the photo shop tools used to come to these.

I inserted the flash swf files into the dreamweaver and this is how it looks like in  the website:

I used 9 pictures to make a flash video which plays continuously,the flash video on the banner is like a small introduction on what the island offers,starting from white long sandy beaches to exotic cuisine.

Below is a brief demonstration of snap shots on how i used flash and a sample of how the website banner will look like.

Gemia Island

Location :North of Kapas Island

Gemia is a privately owned island in Malaysia and is available for ones pleasure. Its seven minutes off the coast of Kuala Terengganu, the island is surrounded by a marine conservation park,a nesting area for rare leatherback turtles. Gemia is not that famous as its over shadowed by Redang island which is much bigger and commonly known in the region.

Accommodations

The island has a number of room types with a variety of price points to meet your budget. The resort,which is the only one has 40 terrace rooms, 10 detached deluxe rooms and 2 villas. All rooms face the sea and are equipped with air conditioning, TV, bathroom facilities and a private balcony in each room to enjoy full view of the sea and the breeze.The island offer special packages like for weddings ceremonies where one can book the whole island for a private ceremony with family and friends.

Facilities

Although the island is small and intimate, it has all of the facilities of a large resort are on site. The resort has its own dive shop, restaurant and bar. The restaurant serves Malay Chinese and Continental meals. In addition, there is a private facility room for large groups (e.g wedding ceremonies or parties venue) and conferences.

Activities

Gemia Island Resort offers both traditional and unique activities. Since the island sits in a conservation sanctuary, snorkeling and diving are a must! If fishing is more your thing, one can try night fishing or squid fishing. If you are looking to stay on land, try participating in one of Gemia's jungle treks!.one can the beautiful sandy beaches by walking along them or just socking in the sunlight to get that nice natural summer body tan for free.If you are a water person,you can jump into the waters and swim with the fishes.

Introduction

For my assigment,im going to create a website about Gemia Island.Gemia is a small island only a few kilometers from the east coast of peninsular Malaysia.Gemia island is a suitable destination for those who want to get away from the busy noisy city life and enjoy mother nature .It offers a spa in one of the only resort, abundance of marine life and the perfect sunshine to get that skin all tan and glowing.

Objective

The purpose of this website is to promote Gemia Island’s natural beauty, its long white sandy beaches, effervescent blue green seabed’s, and its exotic green vegetation .

This website will serve as the focal point of Tourism Malaysia’s entry into the global market of high-end quality holiday destinations.

Target market/demographic segment 

 

We will be offering our services to young adults to retirees of 65. Our segment will be specialized as we are looking into adults who will enjoy all the benefits that the island offers be it snorkeling, jungle trekking or an unwinding day at the spa. These activities are mostly suited to this age group so they will be our main focus. Hence on the website the mostly likely packages for these activities will be advertised creatively. Inviting picturesque image quality created to draw in the user and sell the idea of a luxurious and relaxed yet fun filled adventurous stay.  All the required information will be provided yet keeping an air of ambiguity to encourage and make the end user want to know more by clicking on the various links provided.

Designing and programming

  

My responsibilities will include researching about how we can create our website and also the necessary things to include on it. I will also do the technical stuff. All these duties I will perform them together with Makgarebe in order to speed up things. My main responsibility will be to design and program the website.

My name is Mphotho Keitumetse Gaothobogwe,im age 23 and i come from Botswana.My major is Finance with Multimedia and I'm on year 3.I enjoy going out with my friends to movies or shopping malls,meeting new people,trying local dishes,traveling and doing new things everyday.Just like many people of my age,i like listening to music.i like any kind of music as long as a can dance to it or some how relate to it or feel it,then i'm good with it.


I'm excited to be doing Digital Media 1 this semester and i'm looking forward to learning new things and having fun for the rest of the semester.
